CONVERSION DEGREE PROGRAMME

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the UniAbuja Conversion Degree Programme for the 2020/2021 Academic Session. The programme is designed to provide those with HND, Third-Class and Pass Degree holders a platform on which these categories of graduates will use to address the problem of the dichotomy between Bachelor Degree and HND holders and it will also help in bridging/remedying their deficiencies towards personal development and self-fulfilment aimed at averting stagnation and other unfavourable managerial decision outcomes in the workplace. The available programmes are as follows:

G. Admission Requirements:

Applicants seeking admission into the specified Bachelor Degree Conversion programmes of the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education of the University of Abuja must possess any of the following requirements:
i.) A minimum of five credit passes including English and Mathematics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in the relevant subjects from any recognized examination bodies such as SSCE/WASC, GCE ‘O’ Level, NECO, NABTEB or TC II.
ii.) Two’ A’ Level passes with a minimum of five ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects.
iii.) Applicant who gained admission and graduated from the University or Polytechnic through Direct Entry (DE), must have at least four (4) credits passes including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE/NECO or NAPTEB in not more than two sittings and at least two passes in ‘A’ level G.C.E or Diploma at Upper Credit level or 10 points in Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB). NCE holders with a minimum of Ten points pass obtained from a recognized institution in addition to five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes as in (i) above can also be considered.
iv.) Applicants must be holders of either Higher National Degree (HND) Certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit or a Bachelor Degree with a minimum of pass degree in a related discipline from a recognized University/Polytechnic.

H. Duration and Mode of Study:

All the conversion programmes shall run in two (2) Academic Sessions of six (6) Semesters (i.e. 3 semesters per session) with the entry point put at 200. The mode of study is mainly face-to-face contact (Full-Time including weekends) with a blend of Virtual Classroom activities.

I. Method of Application:

Prospective candidates are requested to process their admission through JAMB e-facility platform to register after which applicants can be seen on the institution’s CAPS dashboard for admission processing before proceeding to apply with JAMB Registration number online via CDL&CE Portal:

  1. Click on APPLY button to commence the Application
  2. Fill your Biodata thus: (Surname, First name, Other names, Email, and Phone Number). These steps require you to have a valid email address. You may need to open one if you do not have
  3. On the payment preview page, click on Generate RRR
  4. Click make payment and you will be redirected to remita platform, enter your card details (Master Card or Visa Card)
  5. After a successful payment, you will be redirected to the portal and the application number generated. You will be logged out accordingly
  6. Click on “Main Login”, and enter the generated application number and surname as the password to continue the application process

J. Application Fee:

Application forms shall be purchased at the cost of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦20,000) only through REMITA platform excluding bank charges. Applicants are expected to check their e-mail and message boxes from time to time for information and update regarding their applications.


 

OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Open and Distance Learning (ODL) undergraduate Degree programmes of the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE), University of Abuja for the 2021/2022 Academic Session:

A. Faculty of Management Sciences:

C. Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking admission into the specified ODL programmes of the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education of the University of Abuja must possess any of the following requirements:

i.) A minimum of five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in the relevant subjects from any recognized examination bodies such as SSCE/WASC, GCE ‘O’ Level, NECO, NABTEB or TC II.

ii.) Two’ A’ Level passes with a minimum of five ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects.

iii.) Direct Entry (DE) applicants must have at least four (4) credits including English Language and mathematics in SSCE or NECO in not more than two sittings and at least two passes in ‘A’ level G.C.E or Diploma at Upper Credit level or 10 points in Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB). All Programmes run for four or five years depending on entry qualifications. The mode of study is mainly through On-line Course Delivery, Multi-media Resources, Audio-Visual Materials (CDs, DVDs, Disk drive) etc.

E. Method of Application

i.) A minimum of five credit passes including English and Mathematics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in the relevant subjects from any recognized examination bodies such as SSCE/WASC, GCE ‘O’ Level, NECO, NABTEB or TC II.

ii.) Two’ A’ Level passes with a minimum of five ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects.

iii.) All Part-Time programmes run at the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE) shall be for a minimum of Six (6) years in respect of the regular four year degree programme depending on the entry qualifications. The mode of study is mainly face-to face contact on weekends.
